Deck Re-seam, Brightwork Re-varnish, Boom Re-paint

Steady progress on the deck, Bryght work, and boom. I’m especially thrilled to discover that there’s more teak decking than originally anticipated. Good news!

I… added new photos… showing the teak deck re-seaming, the varnish progress, boom disassembly for painting.

The teak deck thickness is thicker than we previously thought. Min 1/4” thick, but most are thicker so longer life in future.

A combination of scraping and digging implements are being used to remove old seaming compound. And then the seams are routed down to the deck and cleaned out to prepare for new compound yo be installed.

Re-varnishing the exterior teak brightwork has already undergone several applications (and sandings). More dramatic with each pass.

And less sexy but super practical, Ted is disassembling the boom for repainting. Definitely some deferred maintenance to be completed here. Still evolving…
