Relieved and thrilled to report that our new sailboat has safely arrived in Newport, Rhode Island after an uneventful (fortunately!) midwinter transport from San Diego. Huge thanks to Eric Chevillet of Safe Harbor Haulers for undertaking this journey on our behalf.

Now let’s turn back the clock a few days to infill the backstory…
Erik,
Any update on your ETA?
I just left Newport Shipyard. Where I met with
Ben Woods, the owner / operator of Ultimate Finish who rents space within the NSY facility. His shed is near the big travel lift, which is where the boat is headed. NSY will lift the hull, mast, boom, and coiled rigging off your rig and move them inside at Ben’s.They are expecting you to arrive sometime after noon on Tuesday.
Brent Levinson is the point of contact for NSY.
Both Brent and Ben are cc’d.
It would be good to get an update sometime today.
Thank you,
Ted Fontaine

Erik,
I am most likely going to be on a flight when you get to Newport. Ben from Ultimate Finish will be on site as should Brent who works for the Shipyard. The shipyard is expecting you after the lunch break.

If you’re curious, I snapped some screenshots of Eric’s route from San Diego to Newport. Here’ how he rolled.
